Artist's Description
This is the second painting in a series of 5 pictuires, " A Week in the Life of Walter, the Jersey City Policeman" Several of the pieces have been award winners for me in various exhibits. The series won first place at the Cultural Arts Art Exhibit at Liberty State Park in Jersey City many year back. Walter was my neighbor and I accompanied him around for a
week to collect references for my project. Two more were to be added but time ran out. His main task was a homicide photographer with the Jersey City Police force and yet he could be a jokester with a tremendous sense of humor, always telling jokes and making the neighborhood kids smile. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved animals and an ending the working shift with an occasional beer at the corner bar.
About Melinda Saminski
I was born an artist..... Painting, drawing and music have been my passions since childhood. I pursued my education, studying Illustration with marvelous instructors at School of Visual Arts, and the Arts Students League, which I am a lifetime member. I started M.S. Design Studio in the Flatiron district NYC in 1989 and Melinda's Window Advertising and Murals in 83 and have kept busy with a steady stream of clients ever since. The artfield has been an exciting and challenging one for me. My most recently completed project is The Windmill of Hoboken Wall of Fame mural" illustrating notable celebs as Sinatra's Rat Pack to NJ's Danny Aiello and Governor Christie.
